Up until recently most people had not heard about the concept called website flipping, let alone know what it meant. In actuality the concept is simple, take the same concept of flipping a real estate property and apply it to a web site. So all you are doing is taking a web site buying it, improving it to raise the value so it can be sold again for a profit.

First you need to establish your niche. This means decide what you site will be about. After you have found your niche it’s time to get a domain name, during this step try to decide on one that will give visitors an idea as to what the site is about. The final step will to be to upload your site to the Internet via FTP.
So lets talk about the first step deciding on a topic for your site. By this stage you should already have a realistically good idea as to the subject that your site will center around. One bit of advice that you should keep in mind when deciding on a subject is choose one that both you love to do and one that you are knowledgeable about. If you are flipping a site to try and resell for a profit then you may want to consider a subject that has a lot of peoples interest instead of focusing on your own particular interest.
Next you need to come up with a domain name that will get peoples attention and drive traffic to your site. The two rules to remember for this is that it needs to be a name that people can remember. The site name also needs to be related to the subject matter if the site. You will probably be disappointed to discover that many of the domain names you really want to use have already been taken by other people. This is where you will have to get creative in your naming of your site. If you are able to get the name you want pay the price to get the perfect domain name, in the end it will be a wise business decision.
Now it comes time to design the site. If you have the knowledge to do this yourself then that will save you money thus increasing your profit. However if you are either rusty or unsure completely then there are several options out there that can help you in design of your site.
Finally you have to find a company to host your site. This is crucial in the fact that you have to have your site seen in order for people to come to it and visit. When considering a hosting company consider this there are companies out there that generally offer two options. The first option is free hosting, the drawback to this is that they provide you with very little space and you generally have to contend with ads on the site. The other option is hosting on a dedicated server. This is useful in the fact that there is usually more space and the ads are either not there or are a lot less annoying to deal with.
