Website Flipping – Other Ways to Generate Traffic to Your Flip Site

Press Releases

You can tell people about your new site through online press releases. There are multiple places you can go to submit a press release. Just Google them and then submit a free press release to various sites. It can even be the same one. But, don’t forget to add the URL going back to your site so that you get that boost in traffic too. And, if you are using this strategy to get you indexed better in search engines, you might also want to tell your potential buyers how many press releases are out there and the efforts you put into marketing the site and increasing exposure. They will really appreciate that.

Google SiteMaps

You can create an entire site map for your site using the Google SiteMaps tool. A site map actually crawls your entire website and then spits out all the URLs of each of the pages on your site. This gives a bird’s eye view of the content and organization of your site as is specifically used to facilitate search engine indexing. The nice thing about Google SiteMaps is that it isn’t just for Google. You can take the same site map and submit it to Yahoo! And other major search engines too. This makes it easier for them to see what you have on your site too and helps them to index your site better, without having to necessarily crawl your entire site. You’ve already done it for them. Google Sitemaps is located here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools .

Some people don’t know that without a site map, the spider that crawls your website will using start at the home page and work it’s way from this page to any other pages on the site, based on the links on the front page. Without a site map, the spider may miss pages and links that are essential to bringing people in to see them. If they are missed, they are not indexed. If they are not indexed, they won’t have a chance to ranked on result pages and fewer people will find them. So, you do want a site map embedded in your home page to make it easy for search engines, and barring that, you want to submit the site map manually to the search engines.

Add Your Site Manually To Search Engines

The other way to get indexed quickly is to manually submit your URL to the major search engines. That way, they don’t have to stumble across your website URL from all the other content they are indexing daily. Instead, you go to Yahoo! Or MSN.com and you submit the URL yourself. To submit your site to Yahoo! You will have to go here: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit . To submit your site to MSN.com you will have to submit your site here: http://search.msn.com.sg/docs/submit.aspx .

Add Your URL To Directory Listings

Another great way to increase exposure and become indexed quickly is to submit your site to directory listings. You want to put it in the appropriate category and search out multiple online directories to add your URL.

These are just a few of the ways you can get greater exposure on the Internet and quickly indexed by major search engines. You don’t have to go whole hog and do every single one for each web site you create. You can, however, do multiple sites at once and that will make it more time effective. Just pick a couple of strategies to try and a few of your web sites, and do these in batches. That way, you get done much quicker and you don’t have to flip back and forth from one web page to another for each web site.

7 Blogging Tips for Increased Traffic

7 Blogging Tips for Increased Traffic

Whether you are just creating a blog or wanting to improve upon a site you have already launched there are certain blogging tips that will help you do both. In either case the ultimate goal is to establish and maintain a steady flow of blog traffic. As business blogs have grown in popularity so have the number of techniques used to attract site visitors. The push for new ways to increase blog traffic generally almost always lead back to the tried and true methods that have stood the test of time.

In the spirit of the old saying ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ here are 7 blogs tips you can use immediately to attract and maintain a flow of traffic to your site.

Prepare a Series of Posts for Launch

When initially launching your blog have a series of post containing great information prepared in advance. Being your blog is new and with no traffic you want to post these articles you have prepared right away. This will give your site a greater online presence on the basis of more content being located on your site along with capturing the attention of search engines.

Post Regularly

In the early stages of your blog you will want to post as frequently as possible because you are trying to attract as much attention (generate traffic) as possible. As your traffic increases it will in turn attract even more site visitors as ‘word’ gets out. You are trying to build and establish some momentum here therefore it is important to maintain a frequent schedule of posting to do this.

Once you have established a flow of blog traffic continue to post regularly so your readers will know they can expect updates from you. The frequency of your posting can be decreased at this stage but do remain on a regular schedule with your updates.

Use Relevant Domain Name

When selecting your domain name be sure that the name you pick is relevant to the theme of your blog. If your domain name is unrelated to what you are blogging about it will make it harder for search engines to find you and to establish a good flow of traffic.

Leave Comments on Other Blogs

Go out within your niche and visit other business blogs with similar or related theme to yours. Get involved in their ‘discussions’ when appropriate and leave comments. By maintaining a link back to your site others will be able to see what you blog about. Of course the only way you will capture anybody’s attention will be with good quality comments.

On the other hand by visiting other sites you can also expect to increase your own knowledge on the subject matter along with new ideas for setting up your site.

Encourage Reader Interaction

Always encourage your own readers to leave comments or share their input. The more interaction you can generate the more inviting it will be for other readers to join in. This type of interactivity leads to a more popular site and an increase in blog traffic.

Submit Articles

Write and submit articles to directories to increase your exposure online. Article submissions are a very good way to establish your credibility and create curiosity about your blog.

Maintain Quality Content

Do not slacken off with the quality of the post you put up on your blog. You may have established a good flow of traffic but one sure way to diminish this flow is by consistently posting useless content. By maintaining your level of quality you will maintain the readers’ loyalty while continuing to attract even more traffic.

For those just creating a blog or those wanting to improve upon an existing site there are certain blogging tips that will greatly benefit both scenarios. As business blogs have grown in popularity so has the competition within the blogging community to attract site visitors. This has resulted in numerous new traffic generation techniques or software being introduced in an effort to meet the heavy demand for this blog traffic. Some have work while others proved to be more effort than they are worth. The blog tips we discussed here today however have proven over time to deliver the traffic you need. At a cost of little more than your own effort you can capture your share of traffic to suit any purposes you may have.

Are you promoting your blog under a tight schedule? Finding it difficult to frequently update your blogs with fresh content?

If you are blogging in your free hours, it can seem almost impossible. You are always battling to publish a post every weekday and sometimes you can’t even cope with that. You want to participate in forums, do SEO, social networking, article marketing and so on but you also have a day job, family, friends, personal needs to take care of that are also important to your life.

And so you keep wondering, should you continue battling with your daily activities and doing the best you can?

Or is there a better strategy that is less time consuming?

I have been doing a research to the above question about a year ago and after working with more than 50 bloggers and experimenting different things, I think I have found a satisfactory solution.

As it turns out, the answer isn’t doing more and more any more but rather doing less quality blogging.

Keep reading this blogging tips for more information.

Step One of Blogging Tips: Publish only one blog post each week

Whoever said you have to make a blog post every single day?

Nobody, as far as I can tell can give you concrete answer. It’s just what a lot of people believing it will bring them traffic, and so most of us assume it’s the only way out.

But it’s not.

If you are short of time, there’s nothing wrong with cutting back on the number of blogs you publish. You never can tell your readers might even be grateful for giving them time to keep up with your post. Most folks have so much stuff to read that they don’t have time to keep up with all of your posts and probably they feel bad about it. By cutting back on the number of blog post, you make it easier for them to remain an active subscriber.

So how many posts should you publish in a week?

There’s no set number but here’s my recommendation, begin with one really good post every week and if you happen to have more free time as time goes on, you can work your way up.

A well-written blog can get you more links as well as traffic than hundreds of hurriedly written ones. No doubt, some writers are faster than others but in general, if you are spending less than a couple of hours on most of your posts, you are most likely going on a fast pace. Quality is still more important than quantity.

The truth is, if you are providing quality blogs there is a high tendency that you will double or triple your traffic, at the same time this will help free up your time for other aspect of your marketing.

Step Two of Blogging Tips: Submit one guest post every month on popular blogs

There are tons of strategies for promoting a blog. In the real sense, you would want to use them all and digging dozens of channels for traffic to flow in.

There’s only one problem: you don’t live in an ideal world. And neither do I.

Fact is if you were working on your blog full-time with a dozen employees to give you a helping hand, you really can not get everything done.

So don’t try to play around instead, focus on one strategy till you are good at it.

I would advice you begin with guest blogging.

Here are my reasons: pretty much every other traffic technique depends on you having lots of connections.

To make SEO worthwhile you need a lot of links from trusted sites. To get the best from twitter, you need to get re-tweets from folks who have many followers. To get the best out of social bookmarking, you need connections with social media power users who can generate dozens or even hundreds of votes for you.

And that’s tough when you’re just starting out because you don’t have any of those things I mentioned above.

From my own point of view, it’s far much easier to build relationships with well established sites first and then use those connections to fuel your other marketing methods.

If you can publish just one guest post every month for famous blogs, in twelve months, you will have made connections with 12 highly influential people who can help you grow your blog pretty faster. This strategy is not going to give you 100,000 subscribers all by itself but it will certainly give you a nice foundation, and one you can build on to grow your blog.

Step Three of Blogging Tips: Slowly start doing more posts and marketing

Once you start seeing the rewards of your effort, you’ll find it’s a lot easier to do more.

Generally, people tend to be more motivated to work when something is working. If you land a guest post on a big blog and get a few hundred subscribers, you won’t have to push yourself so hard to work on your next blog. You’ll have that urge to do more, and that makes blogging more enjoyable and fun.

You would also have established the connections you need to slowly start trying some other marketing methods. Case in point, you could:

Publish a special content, such as a free report or video and then use your connections to get links from top blogs.
Build a following on twitter to help advertise your posts and then strategically make a post go viral.
Pick a search phrase that is getting hundreds of thousands of searches monthly and then make use of your connections to get trusted links.

None of those techniques are brand new. Anyone who has been blogging for a while would probably dreams about attracting links, building a large twitter followers and getting a first page ranking on the three major search engines.

The difference is you will actually be able to accomplish it.

Cutting down your posting schedule will help you to free up some time you need to work on marketing and guest blogging will offer you the connections you need to pull them off.

It’s a very easy method but it’s also one that gives you everything you require while investing a more reasonable amount of time.

Is the technique great?

Nope.

Truth is, it has one serious flaw:

Isn’t getting a guest post on a famous blog challenging?

Of course, it can be difficult.

With visitors numbering in the tens or even hundreds of thousands monthly, famous bloggers are careful about the quality of content they publish on their blog. Regularly, they also have many bloggers volunteering to do guest posts for them, so the competition can be very fierce.

However, it’s not impossible as new bloggers do it regularly at Copyblogger as well as many other top blogs.

There’s no reason why you can’t do it too, all you need is a few tricks of the trade to help you get started.

Certainly, this is not the only strategy for building a top blog but if you are strapped for time, this will go a long way in helping you maintain a stable traffic level as well as building your blog.

I hope you find this blogging tips valuable.

Use Twitter to Make Money Online – What You Need to Know

Microblogging has become one of the biggest trends in both social networking and making money online. The website Twitter is one of the biggest and most widely used micro blogging sites on the internet, and can be a powerful marketing tool if used properly.

Here’s the key: Using Twitter to make money online is all about driving traffic to places where people will take an action that will put cash in your pockets. Micro blogging gives you a chance to target your audience and build a very personal relationship with them while still using massive leverage.

Because of this, the traffic that you generate using Twitter is some of the best web traffic that you can have visiting your site. This is because if someone visits your site due to something that you mention on Twitter, then you aren’t a ‘total stranger’ to the person.

This means that you have a higher degree of trust with them, and higher trust always = more sales. Also, it can have a viral effect if you are giving people links to content, tools, or information that they enjoy. Imagine passing a link onto people who will repost the link for 100′s of their followers to check out… The possibilities are endless.

One of the most effective tricks of using Twitter to make money online is to use Twitter to drive people to articles that you’ve posted on your blog(s). Blogs are very dynamic and allow you to constantly add new and relevant content on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis. This keeps you fresh and allows you to keep people coming back to your site over and over again…

If you offer people good content on your blog, then they are likely to tell others and return themselves. However getting people to your blog originally can be tricky.

This is where micro blogging really shines because the number one thing that you need to know to make money online (for your own ‘brick and mortar business’, affiliate marketing, or something else) is how to get the right people to visit your site. Twitter and other micro blogging sites will help you to supercharge your targeted traffic faster than nearly any other form of free marketing.

Here’s how it works:

Twitter can help you generate traffic by allowing you to let all of your followers know that you’ve posted something new and letting you link to it. A good tip while doing this is to post the article name as a question that will arouse curiosity. One example might be, “Are you using the #1 trick to making money online with Twitter? (insert your link here)”.

This tip can also be used when using other people’s articles through your blog. Simply tell people that you ran across a great article and link to your blog. Then have a blog entry that summarizes the article or promotes it briefly while linking to the original post.

This will get people to your blog and often they will read other posts, ads, reviews, etc. before clicking through to the main article you are referencing.

This is just one of many ways to use Twitter to make money online by driving traffic to your blog. Use it as an idea and get creative in your own way because the possibilities are endless!

Take Care Before you Sell a Website!

As more and more people are coming online to generate income from web, they start to look into websites that could help them to create streams of income either through commissions, user clicks or page impressions or any other way, like CPA, affilate programs etc. Most of them have now starting to build or acquire potential sites and flip them over to the buyers for great profits.

Although traffic is a considerable thing when buying a website, but other things are also important for the site to run and stay profitable in a long run. This article will help you to sell your site if you do not have much traffic flow.

The first technique is to mention how easy it is to maintain and run the site after the ownership transfer. An ideal site would be able to update its content automatically and using unique and fresh content. Your site should be capable of the same. Most buyers will be happier to buy a site that does not require them to write content and maintain the material.

Second technique is to stress on the earning capabilities of your site. All website buyers are looking for an easy way to generate passive streams of income. For example, I normally incorporate Google Adsense, ClickBank and Amazon products review in my site and make sure that the new owner can easily change the affiliate id respectively. This is a very effective method that most buyers do not mind paying for.

The third technique is the ease of transfer. Many buyers are not technically trained and hence, some may not even know how to install a database on a web server. So, better to sell a site that does not require a database and the buyer will appreciate it as they may resell these sites in future as well. If the site you are selling includes database operations, you may need to provide support after the deal to make sure that everything runs smoothly.

Selling a website is the last option. To make money on the internet traffic is not a necessary thing. So many people are there on the internet who are making money without any traffic. They do experiments and tricks. Here is a free report showing how many people make money without any traffic, product, service, website, blog and advertisement. If you analyse this report then you will find it is having really great things to learn about marketing.

All the best!@

WordPress and General Blogging Tips

So I’ll discuss a little about the wordpress platform, themes, recommended plugins and some tips.

If you have just started blogging, there are a few steps you should take.

1. Activate the akismet plugin. This plugin comes preinstalled with wordpress but you have to activate it and get a wordpress key (which takes 2 minutes). Akismet blocks spam comments on your blog, so if you choose to enable comments on your posts (which you should) then this plugin is a must, and best of all it’s a set and forget.
2. Choose a theme. You could use the default theme, but it’s way overused. The ideal is to choose a theme that is very user friendly, with good link visibility, nice color contrast, and a nice and attractive layout. If you know how to design a theme or can change a free theme to your liking, then you should do so, unique content and layout designs are always a better choice than free themes that are probably used by hundreds or more. A good place to get themes is the WordPress Theme Directory. Another one is searching google for “free wordpress themes” :-)
3. Decide on a permalink structure, permalinks are the actual links to your blog posts, and wordpress gives you a lot of flexibility here. For maximum SEO performance, you should simply choose “yourdomain.com/blog-post-title” but this really comes down to personal preference as I personally don’t think it makes that much of a difference, so you might prefer “yourdomain.com/year/month/blog-post-title” that is also search engine (and user) friendly. Whatever you choose, do activate the permalink feature because otherwise you’ll have those ugly query strings all over your urls.
4. Download and install the Google XML Sitemaps Generator Plugin. This plugin takes care of updating and submitting your sitemap to Google and other search engines. This allows search engine to know more about the structure of your website.
5. Dowload and install the All In One SEO Pack Plugin. This plugin optimizes your blogs output for search engine optimization. Optimizes keywords, page titles and more.
6. Install the ShareThis plugin or a similar social bookmarking plugin. This should go right after your posts along with a reminder letting visitors know they can subscribe to your feed. This way visitors have some options when they finish reading your posts. If they like your post, they will be able to quickly submit it to whatever social bookmarking sites they use or e-mail to a friend.
7. Create an About page. You should use this page to introduce yourself to the visitors, your background, your work, what you do and like and what people should expect from your blog. This gives your blog a personal touch that helps visitors to identify you as an actual human behind the blog. Also consider placing one or several pictures of yourself on the about page (or on a photos page if you prefer) as this also greatly increases the human awareness of the visitor.
8. Create a Contact page. You can simply put up a page with e-mail instructions or use a contact me plugin like Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form. This gives confidence to the visitor that he can reach you if he so chooses and, like the about page, gives the human touch.
9. Create an account on FeedBurner for your blog and give your visitors a visible option to subscribe to your blog by RSS and by e-mail (FeedBurner takes good care of all this). This allows users to use an rss reader or just get your posts by e-mail. Most visitors never return so you should make it easy and worthwhile for them to subscribe to your blog and receive future updates.

Well, those are 9 of the things that I think are most common and needed, but I could go on, you should familiarize yourself as much as possible with wordpress (or your other blogging platform of choice), try out new plugins and optimize your theme. It’s a work in progress, but you shouldn’t let that get in the way of your posting.

You could consider setting up a password protected subdomain and creating a clone blog for testing (or install it on your own computer) because once you start getting traffic you shouldn’t go trying new things on your live site where things could break giving your visitors a bad surfing experience. A clone blog is obviously just a blog installation that matches your actual site with the same theme, same plugins and a few dummy posts so you can do your testing.

Once you get your blog ready to go, all that’s left to do is start posting! You should make a nice first post, introducing yourself briefly and letting the reader know that you have an About page with more details. You should give some idea of what visitors can expect from your blog posts.

Now for some quick blogging tips:

1. Make constant posts. You should try your best to do about 3 posts per week minimum. This all depends on your ability to express yourself with words. If you’re good at it, then post as much as you can, daily or even bidaily. If you’re not, well, then try to make at least 3 posts per week.
2. Use post titles wisely. Your post title is very important as it’s the part that will be most visible to the web. Create informative titles, the words you choose here will eventually make your site rank on google for some or all of those same keywords.
3. Make medium to long posts. Not saying that you can’t do small blog posts, you can and should, but you should try your best to create full length and keyword rich posts. Write your best and biggest posts as if the were articles with a small intro, content and conclusion.
4. Post about other blogs. Read blogs about the same topic than yours and link to them and do your own spin on the post, agree, disagree, whatever. Basically try to engage in friendly debates with other bloggers.
5. Leave them wanting for more. End your posts with a small text about what you’ll be posting about next time. Be creative and suspenseful.
6. Proof read and spell check your post before publishing. Occasional typos are ok, but proof reading and using a spell checker should keep them to a minimum.
7. Have fun! You should be having fun blogging. If you’re just starting you can probably feel a little intimidated or sometimes don’t knowing what to post. But you shouldn’t stress to much about it, just take a break and post some other time. Blogging should be relaxing not stressful. Find inspiration around you.

Well and that’s it, there you have just some blogging tips to get you started. These are of course mostly geared to blogging beginners. You can do much more with blogs and use the blogging platform to create other type of niche sites and adsense sites but that is topic for a whole different article.

Roberto Gomes writes for TheMillionDollarDomain.com, a blog aimed at beginners in the make money online business, internet marketing and all subtopics that revolve around it like traffic generation, search engine optimization, contextual advertising, affiliate marketing and much more.

Take Action if you Really Want to Make Money Online

Is it still possible to make money online with Google Adsense? After all, there was a report circulating this past fall that said Adsense was dead.

Adsense took a beating a short time ago when Google made some changes. But it is still possible to make money online with a Web site or two. It is even possible to make a good living with it.

What You Need

You need a domain name, a hosting account, and a niche topic. Preferably the niche is one that you know something about. That makes it easier to fill it with content.

If you want to make money online with one or two Web sites then good content is a must. Your goal is to create a site that attracts people and keeps them coming back.

There are sites on the Internet, created by people just like you that are getting thousands of visitors a day. The content is written by the site owner who cares about the subject. They are passionate about the topic and write from their heart.

These sites have grown in popularity simply by word-of-mouth and maybe some simple search engine optimization tactics. Good content will get noticed, although optimizing for the search engines helps.

Getting Traffic to Your New Site

Before your site can become popular through word-of-mouth you need to get the first visitors to your site. How do you let people know about your site?

Free tactics include posting in forums or blogs and putting your URL in the signature, posting on Answers.Yahoo.com and again putting your URL in the signature, and writing articles and submitting them to article directories. These are all free, and they work very well.

Here’s a hint: Write an article each week for each site. Do that consistently and you can’t help but get traffic. It’s a great way to get backlinks, too, which is very important in getting ranked high in the search engines.

For further education (and for examples) visit StevePavlina.com and JackHumphrey.com/fridaytrafficreport. These are two sites that get thousands of visitors a day. They are using the blogging software put out by WordPress, which is free.

Blogs are a simple way to build a Web site. Anyone can start one, and then tweak it as they become more experienced. Jack’s site didn’t start out looking that cool. He’s done some major changes to it in the last year.

Steve’s site looks very plain, but that doesn’t bother the millions of people who regularly visit his site. They are coming for the content.

That simple-looking site is earning Steve several thousand dollars a day in Adsense, affiliate products and donations. Yes, people actually donate to sites that offer them good content for free. Steve uses a WordPress plug in for collecting donations from visitors who want to give him money as a way of saying “thank you.”

Traffic Clicks and Marketing Tips When Advertising your Website

In the never ending endeavor to get traffic to our websites we are always hunting around the net to find out how other people are getting clicks and generating traffic to there site. The problem with this idea, is that if we do the same things that other people are doing we are going to get the same results as the majority of people that are trying to promote there website.

I don’t know if you know it or not, but ninety nine percent of people that try internet marketing fail. And they fail most of the time because of not enough targeted traffic. A lot of people out there marketing are spending huge amounts of money on failed Pay Per Click campaigns, or wasting time and money on the next ultimate super secret. The truth of the matter is that you have to do things different then the rest, or you’re going to continue to struggle and spend more on advertising your business then you’re going to make in profits.

In order for you to get more traffic to your website you’re going to have to think outside of the box to expand your traffic options. To give an example instead of thinking of trying to get more clicks to your links. You could ask your self how I can get more people to my website. We forget those clicks we’re looking for are people that are clicking on there mouse key. I think this helps us to find more traffic to our websites when were looking for people instead of clicks, because people and clicks are two different things.

It makes us as marketers look at things from anther point of reference and enables us to come up with new innovative ideas. So when you stop looking for clicks and start looking for something more tangible like people. It opens a door in your mind and gives you a different prospective on things. You can then take this a bit further and ask yourself, were do large numbers of people get together? This opens a lot of new possibilities you would not have thought of. Because you will find a lot of people offline as well as online. You won’t find many clicks offline, at least not the kind you’re looking for.

One idea I get from this line of thought, is a classified ad in one of the major newspapers with a nation wide readership. You would get millions of eyes seeing your ad. And if you look at the exposure you’re getting in relation to the cost. You will find this type of advertising can bring you visitors to your website for fractions of a cent, as compared to online advertising like Pay Per Click. There are also many magazines that have world wide readership that you could buy advertising in. And the great thing with these forms of advertising is that they stay around for a long time after there printed. Magazines can get handed around to a lot of different people. You might have many people read the same magazine at the doctor’s office wile waiting to see the doctor.

Other places people go is to the beach. What if you had a bunch of flip-flops made up with your website address in the soles of them, and gave them to vender’s at large beaches to give to people. All those people leaving your web address in the sand. Well that’s a little wild but it gives you an idea of were you can go with this trend of thought.

Now all this from just posing one question in your head a little differently, allowed you to explore other possibilities you would not have thought of. The people that are successful are the one’s that come up with new ideas and products. They are the leader and not follower. It is like that with everything in life; it is the explorer the fellow in front that will find the gold first. You will find this rule will apply in your online marketing ventures as well. So you have to think outside the box and find some unexplored ideals.
