7 Blogging Tips for Increased Traffic

7 Blogging Tips for Increased Traffic

Whether you are just creating a blog or wanting to improve upon a site you have already launched there are certain blogging tips that will help you do both. In either case the ultimate goal is to establish and maintain a steady flow of blog traffic. As business blogs have grown in popularity so have the number of techniques used to attract site visitors. The push for new ways to increase blog traffic generally almost always lead back to the tried and true methods that have stood the test of time.

In the spirit of the old saying ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ here are 7 blogs tips you can use immediately to attract and maintain a flow of traffic to your site.

Prepare a Series of Posts for Launch

When initially launching your blog have a series of post containing great information prepared in advance. Being your blog is new and with no traffic you want to post these articles you have prepared right away. This will give your site a greater online presence on the basis of more content being located on your site along with capturing the attention of search engines.

Post Regularly

In the early stages of your blog you will want to post as frequently as possible because you are trying to attract as much attention (generate traffic) as possible. As your traffic increases it will in turn attract even more site visitors as ‘word’ gets out. You are trying to build and establish some momentum here therefore it is important to maintain a frequent schedule of posting to do this.

Once you have established a flow of blog traffic continue to post regularly so your readers will know they can expect updates from you. The frequency of your posting can be decreased at this stage but do remain on a regular schedule with your updates.

Use Relevant Domain Name

When selecting your domain name be sure that the name you pick is relevant to the theme of your blog. If your domain name is unrelated to what you are blogging about it will make it harder for search engines to find you and to establish a good flow of traffic.

Leave Comments on Other Blogs

Go out within your niche and visit other business blogs with similar or related theme to yours. Get involved in their ‘discussions’ when appropriate and leave comments. By maintaining a link back to your site others will be able to see what you blog about. Of course the only way you will capture anybody’s attention will be with good quality comments.

On the other hand by visiting other sites you can also expect to increase your own knowledge on the subject matter along with new ideas for setting up your site.

Encourage Reader Interaction

Always encourage your own readers to leave comments or share their input. The more interaction you can generate the more inviting it will be for other readers to join in. This type of interactivity leads to a more popular site and an increase in blog traffic.

Submit Articles

Write and submit articles to directories to increase your exposure online. Article submissions are a very good way to establish your credibility and create curiosity about your blog.

Maintain Quality Content

Do not slacken off with the quality of the post you put up on your blog. You may have established a good flow of traffic but one sure way to diminish this flow is by consistently posting useless content. By maintaining your level of quality you will maintain the readers’ loyalty while continuing to attract even more traffic.

For those just creating a blog or those wanting to improve upon an existing site there are certain blogging tips that will greatly benefit both scenarios. As business blogs have grown in popularity so has the competition within the blogging community to attract site visitors. This has resulted in numerous new traffic generation techniques or software being introduced in an effort to meet the heavy demand for this blog traffic. Some have work while others proved to be more effort than they are worth. The blog tips we discussed here today however have proven over time to deliver the traffic you need. At a cost of little more than your own effort you can capture your share of traffic to suit any purposes you may have.

5 Blogging Tips To Write Sensational Blog Posts That Attract Readers

5 Blogging Tips To Write Sensational Blog Posts That Attract Readers

In most cases, writing a post for your blog is quite different from other writing you normally do on the Internet. A blog is more of a diary/fast information or news kind of site that people go to for up-to-date information on the topic, or to get some advice or opinion from an expert.

Here are some proven tips for writing great blog posts that will keep your visitors coming back time and time again for more.

Blogging Tip # 1: Keep It Short.

People can get very easily distracted, so a short blog post can have a lot more effect than a long one. If you have a lot to say about a topic, then it is better to break it down into two or three posts instead of keeping it as one that is too lengthy.

If you find that you need to write a long post, and can’t break it up into pieces, remember to make it very readable by adding bullet points, images or a numbered sequence.

You can also make it more readable by bolding words and adding a lot of subtitles. Most people will be scanning through the information; this makes it easier for them to find the bits and pieces they are looking for.

Keeping your site readable makes people want to return. If they want to return they will bookmark your page and recommend it to others with social bookmarking. This is the kind of viral response you should be aiming for.

Blogging Tip # 2: Proofread.

A lot of typos and grammatical errors will make your visitor close your site. Tons of people today have a hard time with reading as it is, and errors can just add to their confusion. Keep your posts as grammatically correct as possible, and keep it polished and neat.

Blogging Tip # 3: Put The Reader In Mind.

When you write, you need to remember that you are not writing for yourself, but you are writing for another person. Why is that visitor coming to your site? Why did he find it using that certain keyword you are promoting?

A person that is looking for a specific topic of information does not want to hear how your day went. If you are keeping a kind of journal with your blog then that is fine, but if you are developing a business in your niche, and are targeting a specific keyword for information, your personal life has no relevance in that post.

That is not to say, however, that you should not add personality to your blog posts. You can make them rich and lively without getting into a lot of personal information.

There is a separate place on your blog that you should write some personal information about yourself, and that would be the “About Me” page.

You’d be surprised at how many people will click on this page if they are considering making a purchase from your site. Some Internet consumers want to find out more about the company or person they are purchasing from. Your “About Me” page should be personalized so that you become a real figure for them, and they feel they can trust you.

Blogging Tip # 4: Make Wise Use of Your Keywords.

If you blog half-hazardly you will not get the same results that you would by setting up a keyword plan and sticking to it.

If you set up a list of keywords to blog about, you will stay on focus and on-topic much easier than you would than by just blogging as things come to mind. Your post topics are going to appear on the front page, and Google is going to pick them up according to relevance.

There is a trick that many bloggers use and get very good at. That is the ability to write both for the reader and the search engines at the same time. If you can satisfy both, your profit levels will soar. You will get both traffic and loyal readers coming to your blog faithfully.

Blogging Tip # 5: Offer Something Unique.

You will get your visitor’s attention if you offer something that they can’t get anywhere else. If you have a niche in the crafting field, for example, you can sign up for the latest news with Google News or Yahoo!News and blog about anything strange and unique within the topic.

If you have a list of keywords handy, you can just work them into this news blog and kill two birds with one stone. You will have a keyword rich blog, and have some exciting news to offer your visitor.

A lot of people blog without a plan and never really seemed to make it. Remember that a plan is your best friend, and putting forth a strong strategy can make your blog rise to the top above all others.

Are you promoting your blog under a tight schedule? Finding it difficult to frequently update your blogs with fresh content?

If you are blogging in your free hours, it can seem almost impossible. You are always battling to publish a post every weekday and sometimes you can’t even cope with that. You want to participate in forums, do SEO, social networking, article marketing and so on but you also have a day job, family, friends, personal needs to take care of that are also important to your life.

And so you keep wondering, should you continue battling with your daily activities and doing the best you can?

Or is there a better strategy that is less time consuming?

I have been doing a research to the above question about a year ago and after working with more than 50 bloggers and experimenting different things, I think I have found a satisfactory solution.

As it turns out, the answer isn’t doing more and more any more but rather doing less quality blogging.

Keep reading this blogging tips for more information.

Step One of Blogging Tips: Publish only one blog post each week

Whoever said you have to make a blog post every single day?

Nobody, as far as I can tell can give you concrete answer. It’s just what a lot of people believing it will bring them traffic, and so most of us assume it’s the only way out.

But it’s not.

If you are short of time, there’s nothing wrong with cutting back on the number of blogs you publish. You never can tell your readers might even be grateful for giving them time to keep up with your post. Most folks have so much stuff to read that they don’t have time to keep up with all of your posts and probably they feel bad about it. By cutting back on the number of blog post, you make it easier for them to remain an active subscriber.

So how many posts should you publish in a week?

There’s no set number but here’s my recommendation, begin with one really good post every week and if you happen to have more free time as time goes on, you can work your way up.

A well-written blog can get you more links as well as traffic than hundreds of hurriedly written ones. No doubt, some writers are faster than others but in general, if you are spending less than a couple of hours on most of your posts, you are most likely going on a fast pace. Quality is still more important than quantity.

The truth is, if you are providing quality blogs there is a high tendency that you will double or triple your traffic, at the same time this will help free up your time for other aspect of your marketing.

Step Two of Blogging Tips: Submit one guest post every month on popular blogs

There are tons of strategies for promoting a blog. In the real sense, you would want to use them all and digging dozens of channels for traffic to flow in.

There’s only one problem: you don’t live in an ideal world. And neither do I.

Fact is if you were working on your blog full-time with a dozen employees to give you a helping hand, you really can not get everything done.

So don’t try to play around instead, focus on one strategy till you are good at it.

I would advice you begin with guest blogging.

Here are my reasons: pretty much every other traffic technique depends on you having lots of connections.

To make SEO worthwhile you need a lot of links from trusted sites. To get the best from twitter, you need to get re-tweets from folks who have many followers. To get the best out of social bookmarking, you need connections with social media power users who can generate dozens or even hundreds of votes for you.

And that’s tough when you’re just starting out because you don’t have any of those things I mentioned above.

From my own point of view, it’s far much easier to build relationships with well established sites first and then use those connections to fuel your other marketing methods.

If you can publish just one guest post every month for famous blogs, in twelve months, you will have made connections with 12 highly influential people who can help you grow your blog pretty faster. This strategy is not going to give you 100,000 subscribers all by itself but it will certainly give you a nice foundation, and one you can build on to grow your blog.

Step Three of Blogging Tips: Slowly start doing more posts and marketing

Once you start seeing the rewards of your effort, you’ll find it’s a lot easier to do more.

Generally, people tend to be more motivated to work when something is working. If you land a guest post on a big blog and get a few hundred subscribers, you won’t have to push yourself so hard to work on your next blog. You’ll have that urge to do more, and that makes blogging more enjoyable and fun.

You would also have established the connections you need to slowly start trying some other marketing methods. Case in point, you could:

Publish a special content, such as a free report or video and then use your connections to get links from top blogs.
Build a following on twitter to help advertise your posts and then strategically make a post go viral.
Pick a search phrase that is getting hundreds of thousands of searches monthly and then make use of your connections to get trusted links.

None of those techniques are brand new. Anyone who has been blogging for a while would probably dreams about attracting links, building a large twitter followers and getting a first page ranking on the three major search engines.

The difference is you will actually be able to accomplish it.

Cutting down your posting schedule will help you to free up some time you need to work on marketing and guest blogging will offer you the connections you need to pull them off.

It’s a very easy method but it’s also one that gives you everything you require while investing a more reasonable amount of time.

Is the technique great?

Nope.

Truth is, it has one serious flaw:

Isn’t getting a guest post on a famous blog challenging?

Of course, it can be difficult.

With visitors numbering in the tens or even hundreds of thousands monthly, famous bloggers are careful about the quality of content they publish on their blog. Regularly, they also have many bloggers volunteering to do guest posts for them, so the competition can be very fierce.

However, it’s not impossible as new bloggers do it regularly at Copyblogger as well as many other top blogs.

There’s no reason why you can’t do it too, all you need is a few tricks of the trade to help you get started.

Certainly, this is not the only strategy for building a top blog but if you are strapped for time, this will go a long way in helping you maintain a stable traffic level as well as building your blog.

I hope you find this blogging tips valuable.

Follow Blogging Tips for Beginners

Follow Blogging Tips for Beginners

In order to enter the world of professional blogging, you should start from scratch and learn the basics first. Like anything else, writing blog posts and publishing them follows a particular set of steps that are the fundamental ones peculiar to blogosphere. You cannot treat a blog like a website.

Main Blogging Tips for Beginners

A blog is different from a site from many different aspects. Some of the major differences are:

Tip 1: A blog is a dynamic site that should be frequently updated.

Unlike websites that were setup once and the rest was done outside the site, like marketing and so on, blogs are to be updated frequently. A blog that is not updated is not a blog anymore.

Tip 2: Updating of a blog should occur regularly.

Running a blog in professional manner requires devotion to orderly work. You cannot publish a post today and another one whenever you feel like it. The frequency of your publication should follow a certain model.

Tip 3: The language of blogging is more casual.

While writing your posts, a language close to conversational language is used not written. Unlike the language of websites, in blogosphere, you do not say WE think so, WE do so, and so on. Instead of we, you say I think so, I do so, and so forth.

Tip 4: Blogging is more personal and you should talk about yourself in it too.

If you want to be successful in your blogging, from the outset, make yourself known to your audience. You cannot hide behind WE, our corporation, etc. In particular, your about page should clarify exactly who you are and why you blog.

Tip 5: Provide fresh information for your readers.

People go online to read what is interesting and unheard. They like to read amazing stuff. You need to include such information for your audience to satisfy them. Fresh unique information or perspective is what makes them interested.

Tip 6: Include your own perspectives in the posts you write.

When everyone talks about some topic and you would like to have your take on it, go ahead and do it. As long as you don’t copy others, you will be fine, because when you write it yourself, you will be reflected in it. I mean your perspective will be revealed at your posts and within your words.

Tip 7: Your blog theme should match your content and audience.

Remember you should harmonize your blog theme with your content. A simple theme does not match children’s blog. A funny colorful theme is not suitable for a business blog, unless the blog is about something funny, cool, etc.

Tip 8: Make it easy for your readers to subscribe to your feed.

Having your RSS feed button or “Subscribe to Our Feed” should be above the fold or very visible. Otherwise, people may miss it and ignore subscribing to your feed. This way, you will not be able to retain them.

Tip 9: Don’t stuff your pages with advertisement.

Some websites glitter with lots of flash animation, colorful ads here and there and so on. You can barely find the actual content on the blog as there is too much clutter around it, if any. In particular, at the beginning of your blogging, when the blog is new, it will be better not to include ads in your blog. Later, you can include it in a sensible way.

Tip 10: Moderate the comments before you allow them to be published.

Some people, out of laziness, set their blog comments to be published without moderation. They do not feel like moderating the comments and just want them no matter what they are. There is lots of spam on the blogs. Comments are not exceptions. Make sure you install an anti-spam mechanism and moderate the comments before they are published.

If you observe these blogging tips for beginners, you can start a blog on the right path and go toward professional blogging. Of course, it is not that easy and you need to learn every aspect of such world-class blogging through specialized courses or training programs. I will recommend you to find an expert who has gone this route before and learn from him. You will definitely be able to take your blog to a higher level doing so.

Blogging Tip: Use Blogs to Boost Search Engine Optimization

Blogging Tip: Use Blogs to Boost Search Engine Optimization

Blogging tip for today is on Search Engine Optimization using blogs. Blogs play an important role in establishing a strong connection between customers and your online business. The online business thrives from the publicity your blogs bring which reaches out to potential customers on the internet. And you can now use it in your site’s search engine optimization process.

Among the benefits of blogging, search engine optimization is probably one which gives great significance. Blogging can greatly improve a website’s ranking on search engines. To be on top of the rankings on search engines can mean a lot especially if you are running an online business website. This will help bring lots of potential customers to your business website.

To emerge on top of search engine rankings, you should regularly post blogs and use natural keywords. In fact, posting blogs every day with new content and keywords relating to your business will eventually net you the much needed web traffic to your website. A key to using keywords to net traffic is to use niche keywords. Niche keywords entail using keywords that are not overly used by the public and require a more specific sense of a topic. For example, instead of using the keyword “food” which is very common, try going specific by using “thin crust pan pizza” which is a keyword phrase that is not usually used. This would mean that you will have fewer competitors in using that particular keyword or keyword phrase. In addition, a longer keyword phrase would increase the probability that your blog has specific information that the viewer is searching for.

Blogging to make your website visible is important in obtaining volumes of web traffic to your site. Much like article writing, blogging uses keywords in its content to attract search engine results. Top keyword placers which use blogs to receive large amounts of daily traffic integrate a variety of niche keywords to help stay on top of the search engine rankings. In addition to the quality of blogs, the ability of blogs to appear almost immediately in search engine results make blogging a powerful tool for search engine optimization purposes. Hopefully you’ll find this blogging tip useful.

Powerful Business Blogging Tips Revealed To Increase Readership And Explode Profits

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with an average intelligence, some hard work, and a basic grasp of blogging technology. However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog.

Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons. Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they make, and when these expectations are not met, they never attend to their blog again.

Here is a blogging business tip; Set some realistic goal and study the competition. Writing to your blog every day for 30 days should be your main objective. Make sure you use relevant keywords that web surfers use in your niche.

Search for other blogs in your area of expertise and watch what they are doing. Make sure you check out the most popular blogs in your niche by checking their Alexa rank. Can you improve on the blogs you find? Do you know enough about the subject to come up with fresh content every day?

The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

Another important business blogging tip – Marketing; To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you. However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isn’t easy. As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get attention. You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project. To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they will return to your site on a regular basis.

However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so don’t skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site.

To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will be at least several months before you are able to turn much of a profit.

Stay committed is your best business blogging tip; Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period. To stay motivated, set goals or how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

Setting up a website is the very first step of an Internet marketing campaign, and the success or failure of your site depends greatly on how specifically you have defined your website goals. If you don’t know what you want your site to accomplish, it will most likely fail to accomplish anything. Without goals to guide you in developing and monitoring your website, all your site will be is an online announcement that you are in business.

If you expect your site to stimulate some form of action, whether it is visitors filling out a form so a representative can contact them, or purchasing a product, there are steps you can take to insure that your website is functioning at peak efficiency. One of the first indicators of how well your site is working for you is finding out the number of visitors in a given period of time. A good baseline measurement is a month in which you haven’t been doing any unusual offline promotional activities.

However, just because hoards of people have passed through your gates does not mean your site is successful. Usually, you want those visitors to actually do something there. It is equally important to monitor the number of visitors to your site who made a purchase. This figure is called the site conversion rate, and it is an essential element of the efficacy of your website.

To find the site conversion rate, take the number of visitors per month and figure out the percentage of them that actually performed the action your site is set up for. For example, if you had 2,000 hits to your site, but only 25 of them purchased your product, your site conversion rate equals 1.25%. To get this figure, take your number of visitors and divide that figure by the number of visitors who made a purchase. Then divide that result by 100 (25 ?00 X 100).

If your website is set-up to get visitors to fill out a form, make sure to then figure out what the difference is between your site conversion rate and your sales conversion rate. This is because not everyone who fills out your form will actually become your customer. However, whether your site is set-up to sell a service or product, or to get the visitor to fill out a form, the site conversion rate will measure the success or failure of your website whenever you make changes to the site.

You may find that you need to implement some additional marketing strategies if you find that traffic to your site is extremely low. There are several effective methods to improve the flow of traffic to your website, particularly launching a search engine optimization campaign. This campaign is targeted at increasing your position in search engine results so that consumers can find your pages faster and easier. You can either research the steps you need to take to improve your search engine rankings, or employ a search engine optimization company to do the work for you. In either case, after your have improved your search engine positions, make sure you keep on top of them by regular monitoring and adjusting of your efforts to maintain high positions.

Another factor to examine is how easy it is for a visitor to your website to accomplish the action the site is set-up for. For example, if your goal is for the visitor to fill out a form, is this form easily accessible, or does the visitor have to go through four levels to get to it? If it’s too difficult to get to, the customer may just throw in the towel and move on to another site. Make sure your buttons are highly visible, and the path to your form or ordering page quickly accessible.

Finally, have a professional evaluate the copy on your website. The goal is, of course, to get your visitor to make a purchase or fill out your form. Website copy must be specifically geared to your online campaign and not just a cut and paste job from your company brochure. The right copy can make the difference between profit and loss in your online campaign.
